Jim's experience in corporate career transition services with HRMC began in 1986. He has been instrumental in developing unique programs specifically designed to meet the needs of corporate clients. He also led the development of e-Connect™, a successful remote-based career transition program serving candidates nationwide with personal attention and extensive technology tools. Jim is also nationally known for his career and outplacement counseling work with executives and professional candidates from nearly every industry and discipline. Corporate clients and individual candidates have praised him for his high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and ability to inspire and motivate.
Jim has been a guest on KMOX News Radio, providing insight on job market changes, and has been a regularly featured career expert on KMOV-TV's "Ready to Work" series. For over 12 years, he's conducted such workshops as "Networking Skills," "Job Search Strategy," "Job Interviewing," and "Capitalizing on Job Search Technology." His workshops are customized, fast-paced, and interactive, giving participants real-world tools and techniques they can use immediately.
Jim has served on numerous committees and as a board member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) local chapter, HRMA of Greater St. Louis, holding the title of Past-President. He is also active in a number of human resources and civic organizations, and regularly participates in volunteer activities to assist people in transition. Jim is a graduate of Saint Louis University with a BS in personnel and industrial relations.
Karen has over 15 years of experience in business operations management. She oversees all aspects of corporate and employee administration and handles human resource responsibilities, which include maintaining personnel records, facilitating coordination of new hires, payroll processing, and benefit management. She analyzes and organizes business finances and accounting procedures, implements company policies, and supervises our support team. Karen reviews contracts and handles requests from corporate customers regarding vendor requirements to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations. She has an MBA from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Kelly’s background includes both customer service and administrative support within fast-paced, professional environments. Her past experience has cultivated strong communication, time management, and organizational skills that are regularly incorporated into her performance at HRMC. She is responsible for fostering and supporting relationships with clients, coordinating projects, and supporting the entire HRMC team. Kelly coordinates career transition services for our clients, including technology resources, business cards, weekly meetings, and special seminars. She actively participates in weekly job search strategy sessions and has customized specific networking role-play exercises to improve the skills of our outplacement clients. She has a BA in English from Saint Louis University and a CPRW certification from the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches.
Lynette Baker is a visionary and strategic executive/leadership coach and organizational change consultant. While at Wells Fargo Home Lending for 15 years, she helped senior leaders build and lead teams through ambiguous, complex, and multidimensional business initiatives within their operations of Business and Technology, and Strategic Planning and Programs. Lynette's profound passion for corporate and individual success and growth is evident in all phases of her life, including her extensive work for animal rescue and related causes. Lynette is a certified coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a graduate of several leadership development programs from the Center for Creative Leadership. She also has an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and an Engineering degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology. Based in St. Louis, Lynette takes on assignments across the U.S. and internationally.
Bev has over 25 years of progressive and diverse management experience, including advertising, banking, and entrepreneurship. As VP of a major advertising agency, she worked with Fortune 500 clients such as Anheuser-Busch, Purina, and Banquet Foods. Bev has provided career development, strategic planning, leadership development, and coaching services to individuals and in a corporate setting. She specializes in mid-life career coaching and has worked with individuals to hone their management skills, breathe new life into their professions, and examine their strengths and accomplishments to make better career and life decisions. Bev has taken an active role in the St. Louis community, starting the St. Louis Coaches Group and serving in a leadership capacity for many years. She is active in The Forum, an invitation-only group of female executives in St. Louis. She is also active with the growth and development of STL Village, a not-for-profit group encouraging and enabling seniors to “age in community.” Bev is a graduate of Coach University and holds a BS in communications with departmental honors from Ithaca College.
Jim possesses global expertise and experience in all aspects of human resources, where he has created and flawlessly executed numerous strategic solutions to complex business issues well beyond the traditional aspects of HR management. As a native of St. Louis, Jim’s post graduate career began as a data analyst for the industrial relations and personnel departments of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. (now an AT&T subsidiary). He then launched a career in compensation management at Anheuser-Busch Cos, where he held leadership roles as Manager and Director, adding new responsibilities such as benefits, staffing, executive compensation planning, and corporate relocation, on a global scale. In 2003, Jim elevated to a Vice President level, serving in multiple senior HR roles for A-B’s beer business and wholesaler subsidiary. In these roles, Jim drove the import agreements between A-B and InBev, providing insight which proved invaluable years later when A-B was purchased by Belgian brewer, InBev, in 2008. At that time, Jim was chosen by InBev to join their new leadership team as Chief Human Resources Officer for North America, a role he held through 2015. In addition to his functional expertise of HR strategies and developing soft skills, Jim’s background is steeped in systematic and analytical thinking, having graduated in 1983 from the University of Missouri with a degree in computer science. The unique combination of Jim’s passionate, hands-on management approach and his aptitude for analytics has molded him into a visionary leader of leaders.
Barbara’s experience as a resume writer and career coach makes her passionate about helping clients reach their personal job goals. As a former journalist, her expertise as an interviewer enables her to help job seekers realize their unique skills and abilities when preparing for job interviews. Barbara provides customized career strategies that help clients get noticed by recruiters and hiring managers, including LinkedIn profile development, personal marketing plans, and online job application assistance. She is an expert networker skilled at teaching others how to build professional relationships. With over a dozen years of experience in working with and in human resources, she has a deep understanding of the job market, in-demand skill sets, and negotiation techniques. Barbara is a former chapter board member and vice president of the International Association of Business Communicators. She has a certificate in change leadership from eCornell University and a BA in journalism from California State University-Fresno.
Neil is a performance improvement coach and human resource professional with a focus on helping individuals and organizations deliver business results. With over 25 years in operations and HR management, he began his career in operations and has always brought that bottom-line, customer-first perspective to the creation and execution of his coaching, training programs, and performance improvement initiatives. As a national member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Neil is an active member of the St. Louis chapter, and is also a past board member of the St. Louis chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI). He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and holds a graduate certificate in Human Performance Improvement from the American Society of Training and Development. Neil has a BS in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University and an MA in economics from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Donna Martin is a seasoned business leader with broad-based global experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. She has served as a senior executive at several Fortune 500 companies, including Bell Atlantic, Baxter Healthcare, Monsanto, Pharmacia, Ameren, Harley-Davidson and SunEdison Semiconductor. Donna also served for three years as CEO for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, a $12 million not-for-profit focused on leadership development for girls and women. Her background also includes academic experience, having taught everything from kindergarten through graduate school.
Donna’s expertise ranges from strategic business development and culture shaping to HR strategy, leadership development, labor relations, and merger and acquisition assessment and implementation. She is adept in developing partnerships and “around the table” leadership teams with a strong focus on transformational culture change.
Donna believes strongly in community engagement and has served on numerous boards in a variety of roles, including United Way, COCA, Winning Women, American Heart Association, Webster University, AAIM, and the Milwaukee Area Technical College Foundation. She also served on the Pepperdine University Advisory Board for the EDOC Program in Change Management.
Donna holds an MS in education from Northern Illinois University and a BS in education from Eastern Illinois University.
Lainie has over 20 years of experience in career transition and developing and improving team performance and communication. She specializes in executive coaching, team building, leadership management, and career/employee development. Lainie is particularly adept at developing people strategies and selling concepts, products, and services. As an organizational development consultant for a premier health care provider in St. Louis, she was responsible for executive coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and organizational restructuring. Lainie has also designed and conducted supervisory training and developed and presented seminars. As a trained psychotherapist, she specializes in adult, couple, and group counseling. She has an MA in counseling and a BA in psychology from Washington University.
Shary has been an industry leader in the ever-changing world of career transition practices for over 20 years. Her pragmatic approach to career change teaches her clients to create opportunity from astute market analysis to give them the competitive edge by discovering unadvertised opportunities. She is also an expert salary negotiation coach. Shary achieved national top-performer recognition for both the volume of clients who made successful transitions and those who gained higher paying work. She built the first-ever full-time MBA career development program for Saint Louis University. Prior to becoming affiliated with HRMC, Shary was part of a team that orchestrated several outplacement projects for Monsanto, Citicorp, A.G. Edwards, Opaa! Foods, and more. She speaks nationally on bouncing back from unexpected change, stress management, and workplace humor. Her signature programs include Salary Negotiation for the Faint of Heart, Communication Disconnects: Why Isn’t Anyone Listening?, and Thriving with the Driving Forces of Change. Shary has a BA in psychology from Adrian College with additional communications training from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Sterling has spent the last 30 years broadening his HR and OD experience by assuming roles of increasing responsibility in the healthcare, financial, and aerospace industries. His expertise includes selection processes, strategic planning, behavioral interviewing, candidate coaching, process improvement, organizational change, leadership development, and training. Sterling started his career at McDonnell Douglas Corporation as an Employment Specialist before moving on to hiring college graduates and experienced engineers and IT staff. He has developed and delivered selection programs to more than 150 hiring managers and conducted over 6,000 interviews. He was also an adjunct professor at Webster University where he taught selection in the HR Master’s program. Sterling has extensive experience negotiating union contracts, developing and delivering leadership training, and creating corporate-wide human performance initiatives that identify and develop top leadership performers. Sterling holds a BA in psychology and an MA in industrial/organizational psychology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
Eileen has over 20 years of billing/accounts experience at professional service and distribution companies. She is responsible for tracking and processing payables and receivables and updating and researching marketing and operations data. Her skills in Sage, Excel, and Word make her a valuable part of the support team.
